About US$6 billion is donated annually by the 10 wealthiest public philanthropists. Some nonprofits are household names, but others are less well-recognized.

The Saudi Arabia-based Alwaleed Philanthropies works to foster mutual understanding and compassion. The organization's goals include:

Promoting cross-cultural understanding through schooling.

The charitable group committed $5 million in September 2019 to work with Gavi to curb disease outbreaks in economically disadvantaged cities. The Foundation also gave to UNICEF to help with their Measles and Rubella Project, which will hopefully help prevent these potentially fatal diseases from spreading to millions of at-risk youngsters.
